To say I was honored when Sydney called me mere days after Clay proposed would be a massive understatement – my heart literally swelled in my chest when Sydney told me that hiring us one of their biggest priorities after getting engaged. She’s seen us in action enough times (she’s been a bridesmaid and/or wedding guest at sooo many of our past weddings) and been such a constant supporter of ours over the years, we just can’t help but love her to death!

I could instantly tell when she started dating Clay that there was something special there. They are both very understated/subtle people, but the way they look at each other (especially the way they look at one other when the other isn’t even aware of it), I mean… it’s just written all over their faces. We couldn’t be happier for them, and the fact that we get to be on this wedding journey with them is a complete and total honor for us.

Sydney & Clay are getting married this fall, so we decided to do their engagement photos in the summer for a different vibe. This session, to us, embodies Kentucky in the summertime – goin’ down to the creek, driving through the country as the crops are starting to grow tall, and basking in the late sunset.
