Sometimes when we show up on a wedding day, we can literally feel how grounded the energy is in family, friendship, and joy. It permeates the air in a way you can feel in every room. Eileen & Trey’s wedding was very much this kind of day.

Before the wedding, Eileen told me she wanted the wedding day to have the same energy as a Christmas party with all your friends- warm, cozy, lots of good food, and amazing memories being made. Somehow Eileen & Trey (along with their amazing planner, Grace) absolutely captured and cultivated that “Christmas party” energy on their August wedding day.

The last days of summer showed up and showed out in the best way possible, giving us perfect weather and soft golden light all weekend long. Their welcome party at Hotel Genevieve set the tone for the entire weekend- guests got to hear Eileen & Trey’s closest friends and family tell the most tender, hilarious, special stories that painted the most beautiful picture of Eileen & Trey’s character, both together, and as a couple. “Laughing through tears” was such a prevalent theme of the weekend.

The next morning when we arrived to Whitehall, the girls wasted absolutely no time getting the party started. Before the rest of their guests arrived, Eileen & Trey shared an intimate Chinese tea ceremony with their parents and grandparents. There truly wasn’t a dry eye in the room, and witnessing that kind of reverence, love, and display of honor for Eileen’s family and heritage was incredibly powerful. From the western ceremony, cocktail hour, straight through the final song of the night, the energy never once dipped. Even as the DJ was packing up, I don’t think anyone was ready to leave the dance floor!

Eileen & Trey, y’all are one in a million, and it was such an HONOR to document this chapter of your story. We loved every second of celebrating with you and preserving these memories you’ll hold onto for a lifetime. ❤️‍🔥
