ASHFORD ACRES INN WEDDING | TAYLOR AND CAMERON

October 1, 2022

ASHFORD ACRES INN WEDDING | DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHERS

Despite how young they are, Taylor & Cameron’s entire story is a picture of life-long dedication & steady commitment.

They’ve been together since they were teenagers, and their high school English teacher, Julie, even officiated the ceremony. They have been by each other’s side through some of the hardest & darkest seasons of life. Namely, the sudden loss of Cameron’s mother Pam when he was still a teenager. They honored Pam all throughout the day, and it was extremely evident how badly she was missed. I don’t think there was a single person who didn’t cry during the ceremony as Pam’s legacy was remembered.

And I have chills typing this part out… When we pulled them aside for sunset photos later, we noticed a rainbow on the horizon. Which was so bizarre, because it had NOT rained at all that day. Taylor & Cameron, with shock on their faces, told us about something that Julie (who wasn’t just their high school English teacher, but also Pam’s best friend) said at the rehearsal dinner… Julie confidently declared that Pam would make an appearance in the form of a rainbow on the wedding day. Of course, we ran back inside to tell everyone to come look. More tears were shed, and then we did an impromptu photoshoot with “Pam” in the background. To say it was an honor to have experienced this magical, divine moment with them is an understatement. We’ll never forget that perfect moment for them.

This wedding was such a long-awaited day, but it was truly the perfect vignette of their life together. For two more shy & reserved people, it was incredible to see them come alive with their people. Every single guest was so stoked to celebrate Taylor & Cameron. I think that speaks volumes to the kind of people they are.

about us

we're shelley AND portugal

Before we were wedding photographers, we were just two kids in love. We met on Instagram and fell in love over FaceTime. A shared interest in roadkill portraiture is what brought us together (it’s a funny story), but what ultimately compelled us to take a chance on long-distance is the fact that we weren’t looking for surface-level. We craved a shared life full of connection, vulnerability, and the kind of love that changes you. Now we bring that same energy to your wedding day to capture the real story, not a performance.
