Documentary Wedding Photography at La Gala & Baker Arboretum | Bowling Green, KY
Though they call Louisville home, Caroline and Danny came back to her hometown of Bowling Green to celebrate their wedding.
Caroline and I grew up two streets apart, so my small-town-lovin’ heart was so happy that their wedding so authentically “Bowling Green” flavored. From everyone getting ready together at Baker Arboretum, to the sweet ceremony at Caroline’s home church, officiated by her cousin. And we cannot forget their RAGER reception at La Gala downtown… Not to mention, their vendor dream team of local superstars, like Jules with the Flowers. Their NuLu engagement photos last year felt like such a special way to commemorate their life together in Louisville… But coming back to BG to document the wedding, where there are so many roots planted for them, just felt perfect.
From our first convos, they told us all they wanted was a wedding day full of laughter, love, and authenticity. I remember Caroline saying “I mean it’s gonna be dead outside, but I don’t really care!”. Lemme tell ya, “dead” or not, Baker Arboretum in late November made for the most BEAUTIFUL backdrop for us.
This day centered around honoring their families, their faith, and all the people who made up their lives together. As much as we love when couples go rogue and throw out the rulebook, there is something special about honoring the traditions/elements that mean something to you. The days that evoke the same feeling as watching Father of the Bride (Nancy Meyers fans RISE UP) are some of the most special days in our book. And Caroline and Danny were able to put their own spin on a classic wedding day, which we absolutely LOVED. Even though they had a traditional Methodist ceremony, you better believe EVERYONE was shaking ass on the dance floor. When Danny’s family circled up during the Dougie, I turned to Portugal and said “this is the best day ever”
