Our paths have crossed with Lindsey’s a few times (first at her cousin Lauren’s wedding back in 2021, and then again at Maggie & Lloyd’s wedding last summer) so we were beyond honored when she reached out to us after her and Jack got engaged! They are the sweetest, most precious couple – literally all smiles throughout their entire engagement session and so willing to go along with our spur-of-the-moment artsy ideas 😆

Since we needed to do these engagement photos over the winter in order for them to send out save-the-dates, Lindsey had the brilliant idea of doing photos indoors at The Brown Hotel! And it’s a good thing we planned for indoor photos too, because it ended up being a bit chilly (note the snow on the ground 🥶). We had so much fun exploring this landmark historic hotel with these two before catching the sunset at Waterfront Park. Lindsey was SUCH a trooper and literally didn’t complain about the cold once – she is much stronger than me, that is for sureeee lol.

You’ll notice this session was a mixture of film and digital photos, and I LOVE that Lindsey asked us to shoot some film for their session because I just feel like it was the absolute best way to capture these photos! The classic, Old Hollywood vibe of these two against the backdrop of this opulent and historic Louisville landmark just lent itself sooo so well to 35mm.
