THE REGISTRY BISTRO WEDDING | KACIE AND RYAN

July 5, 2021

It’s always special when we meet our couples for the first time and feel like we’ve known them for years (which is exactly what happened when we met these two), but there is something about Kacie + Ryan that is incredibly rare and special. They’re cool as hell but so down to earth, the kind of people that make everyone feel loved and accepted. And the story of how these two rare souls found each other is just as serendipitous as can be, with their paths crossing randomly on move-in day at their apartment building before the pandemic hit. “Pure and fragile happenstance” is how Kacie describes it, since the chances of them meeting later during quarantine were slim to none.

Through finishing law school and navigating 2020 together, they knew without a doubt that they wanted to get married as soon as possible. It is so clear to us that Kacie + Ryan are made to for each other — maybe cliche to say so, but it’s the truth. Their art gallery wedding ceremony fit their personalities perfectly, and their sweet hand-written vows left everyone in tears. Being part of this day and bearing witness to this love was a true honor. Thank you thank you thank you, Kacie + Ryan.

about us

we're shelley AND portugal

Before we were wedding photographers, we were just two kids in love. We met on Instagram and fell in love over FaceTime. A shared interest in roadkill portraiture is what brought us together (it’s a funny story), but what ultimately compelled us to take a chance on long-distance is the fact that we weren’t looking for surface-level. We craved a shared life full of connection, vulnerability, and the kind of love that changes you. Now we bring that same energy to your wedding day to capture the real story, not a performance.
