NYE WEDDING AT SCARRITT BENNETT | MADISON AND GRAYSON

December 31, 2021

DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT SCARRITT BENNETT’S WIGHTMAN CHAPEL | NASHVILLE, TN

Maddie & Grayson’s New Year’s Eve wedding in Nashville perfectly blended tradition, faith, and family with a modern twist. Their ceremony took place at Wightman Chapel at the Scarritt Bennett Center. They chose this venue because it was designed by the same architect as Rhodes College in Memphis, where they first met and fell in love.

The morning ceremony was followed by an afternoon intermission, allowing the party to resume later that evening. Guests celebrated until the clock struck midnight, ringing in 2023 with joy and laughter.

After dinner, the dance party began in full force, complete with karaoke leading up to the midnight countdown. My personal favorite moment was when Maddie was serenaded with “Read U Wrote U” … shoutout to all my Drag Race fans 😉

The day was made even better by amazing weather and the couple’s decision to have us capture both digital and 35mm film photos. Every image is processed to maintain a timeless, film-inspired look.

Please enjoy a mixture of our top digital images and 35mm film from this incredible day.

about us

we're shelley AND portugal

Before we were wedding photographers, we were just two kids in love. We met on Instagram and fell in love over FaceTime. A shared interest in roadkill portraiture is what brought us together (it’s a funny story), but what ultimately compelled us to take a chance on long-distance is the fact that we weren’t looking for surface-level. We craved a shared life full of connection, vulnerability, and the kind of love that changes you. Now we bring that same energy to your wedding day to capture the real story, not a performance.
