Documentary Wedding Photography at The Ace Hotel | Palm Springs, California
The Ace Hotel in Palm Springs has been on our “wedding photographer bucket list” for years. So when Morgan & John reached out to ask us to document their wedding there, I couldn’t respond fast enough.
It turns out Morgan & John are two of the coolest, chillest people we’ve ever met. Throwback to their Atlanta engagement photos: we wandered Oakland Cemetery for two hours and ended up hanging out until after dark because we were just having THAT much fun 👌🏼
While shooting a desert wedding at the Ace was a dream, the real treat was experiencing their celebration. Morgan & John understood something so important: it’s the people, not the place, that make a wedding truly special. Their day reflected that perfectly. Family and friends came to celebrate them, and the wedding was built around what truly mattered.
I’ll never forget seeing Morgan’s mom, stepdad, dad, and stepmom all weeping together during the vows. Cocktail hour ran almost an hour long because the conversations were too good to stop. And of course, everyone jumped in the pool at the end of the night — including Morgan’s dad (hell yeah, Curt!). We hope we captured that feeling of togetherness, because it was truly something special.
Getting to know Morgan & John over the course of planning and photographing their wedding has been a complete gift. Please enjoy some of our favorite images from their day— narrowing these down was almost impossible!
