Getting to photograph Callie & Zack’s wedding day was really special, because I (Shelley) had the honor of documenting Callie’s big sister Morgan’s wedding video about 5 years prior! I absolutely love this family & they have been such huge supporters of ours, so it made this whole experience super special from start to finish. Callie & her family are super super close, and it was so easy to capture so many real, honest moments of them all together on the wedding day. One of my favorites was when Callie’s mom, Carrie, was putting on her bridal veil, and little Corbin (Callie’s niece) came over to “help”. That’s one of the best things about weddings in my opinion – people will say it’s all about you as the bride/groom, but that’s not necessarily true. The day is technically about the union of two people, yes, but it’s also about all the people they’ve asked to come be part of this day and celebrate with them. Capturing moments & priceless, unrepeatable memories that we know will go down in your family history is one of the most reverent aspects of our jobs. We are so thankful for every single couple who entrusts us with this massive task.
Another thing we love about Callie & Zack is how they’re proud of being from Kentucky, and they honored those rustic Kentucky roots with a wedding celebration at one of Bowling Green‘s coolest wedding venues, 939 Adams. They had their first look together in the old tobacco loft, and said their vows in the main warehouse space. For being an older building with so much genuine & original character, 939 Adams provides so much beautiful natural window light that makes it a photographer’s DREAM. It’s one of those rare venues where you could easily document the entire day without ever leaving the building – but, the weather was absolutely gorgeous so of course we had to take advantage of golden hour! After the ceremony, we took the entire wedding party crew out front for some sunset photos before heading inside for dinner & dancing the rest of the evening.
