THE BARN AT 3M FARMS WEDDING | SYDNEY + CLAY

Bowling Green, KY Wedding Photographers

We’ve known Sydney for years (because we kept seeing her at other weddings 😂), and so when she and Clay got engaged & she called us ASAP to reserve us for the date, we weren’t surprised in the least — just super, super honored. 🥲 It was so sweet to walk into East Main BG the morning of the wedding, and immediately rushing into a flurry of “OMG how are yous” and hugs to all of her amazing bridesmaids (we knew almost ALL of them from either meeting them at previous weddings/shooting their weddings in the past). Just the best reminder of what makes this job so sweet — all of the truly amazing people we get to work with.

And obviously Sydney & Clay are no exception to all of the amazingness — literally salt of the earth people, SO trusting and easy to work with. We did their engagement photos in Bowling Green earlier in the summer in preparation for their Thanksgiving weekend wedding — which, TBH I was concerned would be very wet/rainy (so much so that Sydney and I went ahead and worked out a backup rain plan during our venue walkthrough), but ended up being the best weather with perfect cloud coverage (plus a bit of sun peeking out during their first look), and the most relaxed and laid-back vibes. Sydney & Clay told us they wanted the day to be no-fuss easy & fun, and it certainly was. Their venue, The Barn at 3M Farms, is actually owned by Clay’s aunt. And you really don’t need to do much to make Kentucky farmland look beautiful, but Jules with the Flowers worked her magic on the most beautiful autumn arrangements that fit in with the scenery so perfectly. And both Sydney’s gown (and that CAPE!) along with Clay’s custom suit came from local BG vendors B. Bridal and FHG Clothiers, because shopping local is EVERYTHING.

All this, along with all the sentimentality-infused touches (like a framed photo of Sydney & her dad to reserve a seat in his memory, personal vow readings during their first look, and Clay sporting his new tattoo, Sydney’s initial on his ring finger — seriously, swoon!!!) made for a day that was perfectly “them.” Enjoy a collection of our faves from the day.
